Zelda went to see Elmo on Saturday and then spent the night at her aunt's house. They made clay figures, watched Curious George and sang songs in bed. It's the second time they had a sleep over and Zelda had a very good time. She loves all the attention from her aunt.
I knew I would miss her while she was gone, but I also discovered how nice it was just to hang with Portia for a day. She never really gets time alone with Peter and me and sometimes I feel like she needs it.
It's amazing how much attention each girl really needs and wants. If it was up to them Peter and I would be watching them all day while they spin around and fall down. Sneaking away to do the dishes, clean up toys or make them lunch can be SO difficult. There are days when I seem to care less if I cook or clean and just enjoy them and there are days when I just want everything to be in order. Sometimes I don't want to watch Zelda perform her gymnastics solo for me ten times. I have to remind myself that she isn't always going to ask me to watch her, there will be a day when she wants to be alone and doesn't want to hang out with her mom. I'm hoping that day is a lone way away.
